Maybe I should blog more next year... I'm not sure. I'm kinda bummed out and frustrated with myself that I haven't been keeping up with this. Just dealing with normal life stuff with my two jobs, Jason in school, and Jason with a new job has proved overwhelming. I really wish I would write more though, since I have such a hard time remembering things. I love to look back at my blogs and remember seasons in my life. Hopefully I can keep some sort of track of events and feelings in some way. I'm also buying a paper journal just for myself that I hope will be helpful as well. Anyway... here's a recap for 2011! And again, I have to go back and look at my tweets to remember everything. January We celebrated the new year with Dominoes Pizza and Skype with our lovely friends Kyle and Liz. I started trying to do my hair (natural) curly. I tried Zumba on my own for the first time. I did our taxes, expecting a nice refund, and we owed because Jason's job didn't ...

Just kidding, I post more than quarterly... Right? I keep thinking I'll post pictures of our new place when I finally get the curtains made. It is taking quite a while for the fabric to get here though. I had a friend pick it up for me at the Dallas IKEA because I couldn't get it here. She's supposed to have sent it, so maybe it'll get here soon. I do have a sewing machine at home, but I don't have all the supplies needed for a big sewing project. That stuff is expensive! I've been saving up for something else, so I don't have the extra money for scissors, thread, cutting mats, rotary cutters, pins, etc. right now. So I've decided to rent a couple of hours of sewing machine time at the store where I took my first sewing class. They let you use all the supplies and thread you need! You just bring your fabric. So this will tide my over while I save up for what I really want. And then I'll be able to take pretty pictures of our new place. Beca...

Jason made it through the phone interview and will be having an in-person interview on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. We're both really excited, and he's feeling positive about his chances. I'll let you guys know when we have a specific time! As always, prayers are much appreciated. This is an amazing opportunity for Jason.

Jason has a phone interview in the morning at 9 am Mountain time. For all you Texas folks, that's 10 am your time! We are praying hard and asking for another interview! Please pray for Jason to speak with wisdom and that the people talking to him in the phone interview to get to really know him for who he is. I'll post an update when we hear anything!

I don't think I had written about it yet, but Jason applied for a job recently. It would be a perfect job to bridge his ministry experience with his new career field. He's working on his masters in Instructional Design and Adult Learning. Well, he got through the first round (basically, turning in the application and getting a call) and the second round (he had to answer a few really in depth questions and email them in), so now he has an interview coming up! We aren't sure when it's going to be yet because it seems like the department is really busy, but it should be in the next two weeks. We're so excited and hopeful and very much appreciate prayers that he will get the job. I have been praying that they will see Jason with favor and that this will be Jason's opportunity to get experience outside of ministry. Thank you for your prayers during this time of waiting before the interview! When he finds out when it is, I'll post it on here.

Oh, bad blogger. I'm so terrible at blogging. Seriously. I know I'm going to wish I had been blogging though in the future, because I always have trouble remembering past events. I love going back to read my blog from when Jason and I first got married, and even the first year we lived here in Colorado. It's so much fun to see what I was thinking about. So I'll try again. I updated my last post with what we've finished around the house. Honestly, it's been slow going lately. Since we spent two full weeks painting the place and then spent a whole week moving in, we haven't really felt motivated to do anything else. Blerg. I did however, FINALLY pick out some fabric for our curtains downstairs! Unfortunately, it's only available at IKEA and ours doesn't carry it. It was at the Dallas IKEA though, and my lovely friend Liz offered to pick it up for me. Here are the two fabrics I picked out for our two giant windows (one of them is a sliding door) downs...

Hi! Yes, we're alive! Since we finished painting our new place, we've moved into it. We also finally got our old apartment cleaned out yesterday. Hallelujah, it feels great to be done with that! Now I feel like I can focus on our new home. We are so excited about our new townhouse because it's the first place that we've felt like we can really make our own. Yes, we're still renting, but since Jason's parents own the townhouse, we can do more than we would in an apartment and we are (tentatively) planning on staying here more long term, as long as our jobs are still within a reasonable distance. We LOVE the area, and of course, so does Kingsley. He loves staring out the front door all day and going on walks in the park that is less than a block down the street. Kingsley looking out the door.
