On Halloween this year (last year now, I guess haha), I flew down to Texas to spend some time with my best friend Cayce! She had her first baby in July, so I waited a few months, then went down to meet her little boy! My main agenda was hanging out with this adorable little guy! How can you resist that face?? It was amazing to get to spend time with my best friend. Two full days of just getting to be together and hang out like we used to when we were roommates. It's honestly hard to live far away, especially now that she has a baby. It hurts to be far away as he grows up! But of course, we love it here, so it's all a balance. Here I am, behind again, but I WILL catch up! At the beginning of August, Jason and I flew to St. Louis for Adam's wedding and to visit Jason's Grandma. We had a great time! Jarrod and Rachel also went and Glenn and Karen met us there. Our sweet friends the Jones kept Kingsley while we were out of town. It was so nice to know he was well taken care of and loved while we were having fun. We flew in on Friday morning and got our rental car. We drove to the hotel with Jarrod and Rachel, but our rooms weren't ready yet. Time for some Steak N' Shake! We met up with Glenn and Karen for lunch, then headed over to see Grandma! We caught up with her a bit, then Jason had to go to the bachelor party. He had a great time with all the guys. I stayed with his family and finally met him back at the hotel for some sleep before the wedding the next day! We got to the wedding venue really early, and it was so beautiful! Glenn & Karen came to visit this summer over the 4th of July. It was so much fun to have them here again now that we are much more settled in our house! We spent a lot of time just playing games and being together. We all love to play board games, whether they're competitive or collaborative. One of the fun things we got to do together was go on a hike at Lair O' the Bear Park! It was an absolutely gorgeous day, walking beside the creek. AND there's a castle. So much fun!  

My parents came to visit this summer, June 7-11! We had so much fun with them. I think we had the most fun just playing outside and enjoying the beautiful weather. My parents are amazing, and they love to help us with projects around the house. We worked out in the yard a bit while they were here! Dad ended up digging out a huge stump in the backyard. We trimmed up the trees a bit too. Jason made his awesome meatloaf after we got done working.     On Sunday, we went to the Rockies game! We had a blast enjoying the baseball game. Afterward, we took Mom and Dad to church with us. It was fun to get to experience church together. We had so much fun just hanging out around our house and spending time together.  We played a LOT of frisbee in our yard, but we also went over to the park across the street from our house and played there! There's also a basketball court, which was so much fun.            ...

Christmas was so wonderful this year! We celebrated early with Jason's family when his parents were here for Thanksgiving. We decorated our townhouse really fast to have all the festive decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. It was so much fun having everyone at our house for Christmas, even though it was super early. Sweet Kingsley is the best present! On Sunday of course we went to church and saw my church family, then our friends Kyle & Liz drove in from Abilene to spend the afternoon and evening with us! I went to ACU Leadership Camps every summer for 12 years in a row. TWELVE YEARS. The last two, I was on staff. Camps was a huge part of my life, and it was where I did a lot of spiritual growing up. I can genuinely say that camps changed my life. The only thing I never got to do for camps was be a group leader. My sister was on staff this year, and my dad planned to go lead a group so he could be there and spend some time with her. It worked out perfectly for me to fly down (with them, since it was the week after they were here) and lead a group with him! It's hard to describe what Kadesh (the high school camp) really is. It's not exactly a fun camp. You are in a small group with 8-10 other kids and 2 adult group leaders. And you study the Bible. In the afternoon, you do service projects. And you worship worship worship as a camp. It's amazing. Kadesh is set up in a way that you get to know people really fast and really REAL. It's incredible to see the way God wor...

Happy day after Mother's Day! I hope you got to enjoy the day with your mom, or if you can at least talk to her on the phone. I'm writing this the week before Mother's Day, but I plan to Skype with my mom, and my mother-in-law will be in town staying with us! I really wanted to make something for my mom and mother-in-law this year. I can only make so many random things for myself, so I love getting to make things for my family! Sorry family, expect homemade things for Christmas and birthdays this year... I'm having way too much fun to stop! My Mother-in-law Karen has a Kindle Keyboard and a Kindle Fire. Conveniently, both devices have almost the same dimensions. Sweet! So I made her a soft case for whichever one she chooses. Jason went to the fabric store with me and helped pick out the fabric. He specifically wanted something purple. We picked the outside fabric first, then had a bit of trouble finding a coordinating fabric for the lining. When Jason saw this...
