30 Day Shred - Day 1

Image
Okay, let's try this again. I just did Jillian Michaels's 30 Day Shred Level 1 workout. I bought this DVD about... okay, FOUR years ago. And I've never made it past day 1 because you get ridiculously sore and Jillian makes you hate her. But I'm tired of feeling weak even though I'm doing okay with cardio, and I want something to kick start some strength training and toning for me! So I'm putting this out here, to help motivate myself when I wake up tomorrow in extreme pain. I weighed myself and took all my measurements today. Noooo I am for sure not posting my starting measurements on here, though I will say I'm right at the lowest weight I've been as an adult, and my waist measurement has gone down .75 inches just from eating differently the last month. Booyah booyah. I WILL post any changes like losing weight or losing inches. Maybe if I get down to that ultimate goal weight I've been trying to hit for several years, I'll tell you what ...

Adorable Mailman Update

Image
The mailman came by yesterday when Kingsley and I were sitting out on the bench in front of our house. Kingsley was trying to be all big and barked at him when he was approaching, but he calmed down when he came to our house. And the sweet mailmain pulled out a milkbone and gave it to Kingsley! It was the sweetest thing! I just love our little neighborhood. And so this post has a picture, sometimes when Kingsley lays on the couch, he snuggles up to whatever is on the couch with him. Recently, he snuggled up with my fabric cutting ruler and camera bag.

Kindle case

I've been working this year on making something new with my sewing machine every month. Last night I decided to make my item for April, and it ended up being WAY easier than I thought it would be! Everything I learned in a recent zippered clutch class at Fabric Bliss made it easy to put together this  little case. I got a Kindle Touch for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I have a leather case with a light already for it, but I was always worried about getting the leather case scratched up when I put it in my purse to carry around. I had seen a lot of cute soft cases on Etsy, but I was pretty sure I could make it myself. Turns out, I really could make it! It took about an hour and a half. I was shocked I was able to make it so fast. I love that it fits so snugly and I don't have to worry about my Kindle getting scratched up. And it's super cute! It's polka dot on the outside and a really cute grey houndstooth on the inside. There's padding to make it extra sa...

Weekend Getaway in Breckenridge

Image
My best friend from high school is the lovely Lauren. Growing up, we were so close that her mom was like my second mom! I started calling her Mom #2 at some point, and it stuck. Mom #2 happens to be a travel agent. And she happened to hear about someone that had won two nights in Breckenridge and couldn't use the voucher. And my wonderful Mom #2 volunteered us to use it! The first weekend of Spring Break at the end of March (I know, this is a delayed reaction), we drove up to Breckenridge and stayed at the Beaver Run Resort in a one bedroom suite. Oh man. This place was so nice!! I couldn't believe we were getting to stay there for free. The view from our room We don't ski or snowboard, so our plan for the weekend was just to explore the town and relax. We were successful! We ate so much good food. Empire Burger, a French bakery, a coffee shop, an amazing steak dinner at the resort that was FREE, and delicious donuts on the way out of town. We seriously had amaz...

Handsome boy

Image
Kingsley loves to sit in the doorway and look out through the glass door. The mailman just came by and saw him through the door. He told him what a handsome boy he is! And what a nice dog too. That was absolutely adorable.
