7 years!

Seven years ago today, God saved my life. He kept me safe when my body couldn't heal itself. He put angels in my path when I got to the hospital. He gave me an amazing family who helped me down a long and challenging recovery process that took several months. He gave me friends that found the humor in all the horrible side effects of the drugs that made me better. He helped me out of a destructive relationship and started preparing me for my husband. 6 years!

Aw man, I do this EVERY year. I missed my anniversary again. Most of you reading this have known me for years, so you know the story. Six years ago, right around March 24, 2005, I was diagnosed with a blood disorder. The doctors told me that they had never seen someone my age (19 at the time) with platelets that low who was still alive. I believe it is by the grace and faithfulness of God that I did not die from my blood disorder before the doctors figured it out. When I realized I'd missed my anniversary again, I ran into the office to tell Jason. As I was leaving again, I said "Six extra years." He looked at me kinda funny, but that's how I feel about the time. The six years that I wasn't guaranteed were a gift from God. Six extra years. And I still pray that God will use these years He's given me to His glory.
