August Trip to St. Louis

Here I am, behind again, but I WILL catch up!

At the beginning of August, Jason and I flew to St. Louis for Adam's wedding and to visit Jason's Grandma. We had a great time! Jarrod and Rachel also went and Glenn and Karen met us there.

Our sweet friends the Jones kept Kingsley while we were out of town. It was so nice to know he was well taken care of and loved while we were having fun.

We flew in on Friday morning and got our rental car. We drove to the hotel with Jarrod and Rachel, but our rooms weren't ready yet. Time for some Steak N' Shake! We met up with Glenn and Karen for lunch, then headed over to see Grandma!

We caught up with her a bit, then Jason had to go to the bachelor party. He had a great time with all the guys. I stayed with his family and finally met him back at the hotel for some sleep before the wedding the next day!

We got to the wedding venue really early, and it was so beautiful! Adam and Emily got married in a greenhouse filled with greenery. So pretty. After the ceremony, the wedding party drove around to take pictures at a bunch of different places, including the QuikTrip where they met. Super cute.

After pictures, we followed the couple over to the reception venue. There was great food, cupcakes, and dancing! It was a great wedding, and we were so glad to be there to celebrate their marriage.

After the wedding, we ran back to the hotel to change then met back up with Jason's family for pictures! We set up the self timer and got pictures of all of us with Grandma and with Jason's aunt and uncle. Super fun. I think this night we had pork steak for dinner, which I had never had before! It's a St. Louis thing. We also celebrated Grandma's (early) 80th birthday and surprised her with a cake! So much fun to see her so happy!

On Sunday we met back up with family for lunch - Imo's Pizza! This is something we always have to get when we're in St. Louis. It's delicious but I'm definitely glad we don't have it here... we would eat it way too much. After lunch, we met back up with Adam and Emily and some of the wedding party at the U City Loop. We got to go into Vintage Vinyl, where Jason shopped for music in high school. We popped over to Fitz's for a root beer and orange soda (yum!) then headed off on our own again to celebrate our anniversary!

Yup, Sunday while we were in St. Louis was our 6 year wedding anniversary! We got cannoli and just got to spend time together. It was nice to just relax after a really busy weekend. We flew home on Monday morning and went back to real life. It was a really fast trip, and I'm so thankful we were able to be there. We hope to get back to St. Louis again soon!
