Weekend Getaway in Breckenridge

My best friend from high school is the lovely Lauren. Growing up, we were so close that her mom was like my second mom! I started calling her Mom #2 at some point, and it stuck.

Mom #2 happens to be a travel agent. And she happened to hear about someone that had won two nights in Breckenridge and couldn't use the voucher. And my wonderful Mom #2 volunteered us to use it!

The first weekend of Spring Break at the end of March (I know, this is a delayed reaction), we drove up to Breckenridge and stayed at the Beaver Run Resort in a one bedroom suite. Oh man. This place was so nice!! I couldn't believe we were getting to stay there for free.

We don't ski or snowboard, so our plan for the weekend was just to explore the town and relax. We were successful! We ate so much good food. Empire Burger, a French bakery, a coffee shop, an amazing steak dinner at the resort that was FREE, and delicious donuts on the way out of town. We seriously had amazing food all weekend, thanks to some recommendations from coworkers before we left.

The rest of the time when we weren't eating, we explored Breckenridge. This was made even easier by the free shuttle at the resort. I seriously love going places where I don't have to drive. If Denver had public transportation for everywhere I needed to go, I would never drive. It was so much fun to just wander around the town with no agenda. We even rode a gondola up to the ski slope just for the ride. It was awesome.

And we got to do all of this thanks to Sharon, my second Mom! I'm so so thankful for her and her continued love and friendship. We are so blessed.

And we're getting pretty good at self timer!
