Wonderful Week!
This past week was fantastic. My fabulous parents came to visit for an entire week! Their timing was absolutely perfect, since we just got the keys to our new townhouse. They helped us paint almost every room in the house. And by almost, I mean all but ONE. And I'm going back over there today to finish the last one.
Even though we worked all week, it was such a joy and blessing just to be around my parents. It's hard living far away, but it means we treasure our time together even more. It was such a blast to get to make our townhouse into a home with their help. And we got to listen to music and dance around the whole time. And of course, we had fun in the evenings when it got too dark to work anymore (no overhead lighting in the new place!).

Dad was an excellent ceiling painter.

And Mom was the roller queen for the walls!
On Friday we took a day off from working on the townhouse to just spend the day together and have fun. We kicked off the day with a round of disc golf at Red Rocks Community College. It was so much fun! My dad disc golfs already, but my mom had never gone before. It was so. much. fun. watching her learn how to play. Also, hilarious. Mostly because it was three right handed people trying to teach a left handed person how to throw discs. It was a beautiful morning, and I'm so thankful for the time we had out on the course.

After disc golf, we went to a little town right in the foothills called Morrison. My new school is there in town, and we got to go inside and look at the library! That was exciting for me because even Jason hadn't seen it yet.
After we peeked at my school, we drove up to the Red Rocks amphitheater to show my parents. Kenny Chesney was playing that night apparently. We got to take some pictures and see the red rocks, then we drove back down to Morrison.
We had lunch at one of our favourite burger joints, The Blue Cow in Morrison. It was sooo good! We were celebrating Jason's birthday. We all got burgers, and I got some fantastic fresh squeezed lemonade too.
After lunch, we took a trip to my other school, Green Gables. We were lucky enough to catch our new maintenance guy at the door, since I forgot my keys. We looked around my library for a bit, then got outta there. We made a pitstop at True Blue Tattoo... not for a tattoo! I needed to buy some new earrings for my cartilage piercings that I can easily take in and out. I'm playing in a basketball league this summer, so I needed new earrings. It was pretty funny to bring my parents into a tattoo shop.
We went home for a couple of hours, and mom and I made Pioneer Woman's Peach Crisp. Oh man. So good. We made it because we were going to go have dinner with Reg & Amy Cox! We had such a blast spending time with them. We probably even overstayed, but it was so much fun seeing the friendship between my dad and Reg, and now between my husband and Reg. It was amazing, and absolutely a blessing from God.
It was a fantastic week with my parents, and we were so sad to see them go. But we had such a wonderful time, and we can't wait til next time!

We lost a disc at one point. I love that my dad is scratching his head while looking for it. Hilarious!
