Murphy's Law
I had a Murphy's Law day today. Yanno, everything that can go wrong, will?
I was at a training all day, but didn't get a sub for work. Then my library aide called in sick. This means there's no one in the library! Then I get a call from work. Then a text, asking what the password for circulation is because they can't login. I call them back and give it to them, and 15 minutes later, the online system kicks me out and says my password is wrong. Awesome, so the password I just gave them no longer works. Go home on lunch break from the training to heat up some lunch at home and relax. Aaaaand the power is out. I took the dog out, then got back in the car to go to Wendy's real quick. Aaaand the power is out at Wendy's. And the stop light is out, but not even blinking. So I drove a few minutes away to Sonic, since they're far enough away that their power is probably fine. Yup! The power was on, but they got my order wrong.
In the middle of this, I called my dad to just vent my frustration, but we ended up laughing about it. It was just so funny that everything was snowballing like it was, and the fact that it wasn't serious things that were going wrong made it easy to laugh about. We just cracked up. I love that. The whole morning I had been on edge and stressed out, and then talking to my dad just made me feel completely better about it. It WAS hilarious that this all happened today. I mean, what are the odds? Anyway, it was just nice to have that turning point. The rest of the day turned out to be fine!
