I carved my first pumpkin this week. ;)

When you're a teacher, sometimes the kids can't remember your name, so they just call you "Teacher." It absolutely made my week, when I was walking down the hall, and one of my sixth graders waved and just said, "Hi Librarian!" Seriously, so adorable.

I'd just like to take a moment to proclaim my love for big hair. I was watching ANTM tonight, and Tyra's hair was so gloriously big in judging that I just about swooned. Yes, world, I am and always will be from Texas. and I love Texas hair!

I am living in the world of Book Fair. It is all I have done for the past 2 weeks just about. I am so ready to have my regular library back! But it's been worth it... as of this afternoon, we had $5100 in sales. We get between a quarter and half of the sales as our profit. Booyah Booyah! (I really want to find a Community season 1 clip where Duncan says "Booyah booyah" to Jeff, but it just doesn't exist on the Internet. So please do yourself a favor and go buy the season 1 DVD of Community, and just watch episode 1. I promise you'll love it. Here's an alternate clip that is awesome just for the sake of being awesome.)

I could just have a blog of NPH gifs from HIMYM and I'd be happy. ps: I've already lost 4 pounds with eating right and walking at least 10,000 steps a day for about 3 weeks. Booyah! So also:

Success! I managed to meet my goal this work week of walking 10,000+ steps every day. On three days, I walked over 13,000 steps. Whoa! Makes me feel awesome. In other news, I started planning my first Book Fair. I am so out of my element doing this, but I think it'll be fun. It starts on October 1. The hardest part for me has been figuring out the schedule. Scheduling the classes first, and then next week I have to tackle scheduling volunteers, which is something I have never done before. Well, okay, everything about this job is something I've never done before, but this is just weird for me. It's such great experience in management. Also a strange dynamic. It's odd to me to be telling people what to do, especially because I'm so much younger than them. I'm super thankful for this job, because I love it, but also because it is pushing me and challenging me professionally like nothing ever has before.
